Fiber Art Classes
We offer a great range of fiber art classes at Peaceful Heart Alpacas. Our 2012 schedule has not yet been set, but we will once again be offering classes in knitting, felting, weaving and other fiber arts. We'll be sending out the schedule soon. Fun with Felt Series - 2012 Classes
Peaceful Heart Alpacas is pleased to announce the second year of our fiber art series: Fun with Felt. For 2012, we will be offering classes in felting scarves, purses, hats, cell phone covers, wall hangings, and totebags. All classes will be taught by local fiber artist Karen Simpson. Creating a Scarf Using a Knitting Loom
Classes now scheduled for winter 2012. During our knitting loom class, we will learn to start and finish scarves and begin using the loom to 'knit' an alpaca scarf. At the end of the class, you will take your loom and scarf with you to finish at home. See the detailed description for more information.

Knitting Class - Great American Afghan
During this intermediate knitting class, you will learn how to cable knit as well as other advanced knitting stitches such as yarn overs. Each class will focus on one of the squares that make up the Great American Aran Afghan, and will provide the opportunity to learn and practice some great new knitting stitches. We will meet July 16 and 30. Join us for one or both classes. Each class costs $40 plus materials and will be taught by Inger Sikora. See the detailed description for more information. Knitting Class - Learn to Knit with Alpaca
Have you always wanted to knit? Or do you have some experience with knitting but forgotten most of it? This is the class for you! In this class, specifically geared towards beginners, you will learn how to: Cast on; Knit and Purl; and Bind off. We will also cover: How to read a knitting pattern and How to correct mistakes. Most of all, we'll have fun! Choose from three projects to make a beautiful alpaca item.

Weaving an Alpaca Shawl on the Triangle Loom (Advanced Class)
During this workshop, we will take the next step in weaving on the triangle loom to explore weaving shawls and other items using more complex designs and yarns. See the detailed description for more information.
The class meets Dec 9-11 from 6-9 pm Friday and 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday. The seminar costs $150 plus materials. Class size is limited and preregistration required. A $50 deposit will reserve your space. You may register online, by phone or in person.
