Along one of America's most scenic roads, you will find Peaceful Heart Alpacas. We invite you to visit our farm located at Mile Post 204 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just a few miles from the Virginia/North Carolina border. Come by to meet the alpacas and visit our store full of soft baby alpaca yarn and clothing. The farm and store is open April to December from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday-Saturday and Sundays 1-5 pm. January to March, we are open Friday to Sunday or by appointment.

We have a wide range of alpaca products, from Fair Trade Certified alpaca sweaters and alpaca socks to alpaca clothing and baby alpaca yarns made in the USA, including here at our farm.
Alpacas produce a luxurious, soft and warm fiber in a wide range of colors. We sell alpaca yarns and rovings from our alpacas in their beautiful natural colors. Our yarns and fiber are environmentally friendly, dye-free and wonderful for spinning, felting, knitting, crochet and weaving. The fiber is 100% Virginia grown. We shear our alpacas in May and sort their fiber by color and fineness. We then send our fiber to be washed and made up into 100% alpaca yarn or rovings for spinning and felting. We use small US fiber mills to process our fiber to sell in our shop or to create yarns and clothing here at our farm.
We also sell commercially processed alpaca yarns of all weights and colors. We carry alpaca yarns from The Alpaca Yarn Company and Plymouth Yarn. We have a wide selection of patterns for all our yarns from the lace weight Suri Elegance to the bulky Baby Alpaca Grande. We stock KA bamboo knitting needles, crochet hooks and notions, which we love for working with alpaca yarn. Throughout the year we teach classes in knitting weaving, felting and crochet. You will find descriptions and dates for our 2011 fiber art classes listed under classes to your left..
You will also find a wide selection of home décor and clothing made from 100% alpaca. Many of these items are Fair Trade Certified items made in Peru. We carry superfine and baby alpaca sweaters for men and women in sizes from XSmall to XXLarge. Our alpaca jackets, capes and ruanas are luxurious and stylish; perfect for special occasions and everyday wear. Our alpaca scarves, hats, gloves and other accessories are warm and soft. Some of our most popular items are our alpaca socks in a variety of styles and colors. We also sell sweet and fluffy alpaca figures and alpaca teddy bears, as well as warm and soft alpaca blankets. In addition to our Fair Trade items, we also sell locally made items including shawls and other items woven, knit or crocheted at Peaceful Heart Alpacas.
